Every year a few days after Christmas has ended, (yes, I know. A little late, right?!) when the world slowly starts taking the tree to curb and the wreaths are released from their hooks, my family takes a little break.
To be together sitting by the fire, reading, laughing and enjoying each others company before we separate again.
A little breath of fresh air in the fast moving world we live in.
Joy is 5. Wait what?! Joy is five?! When did my baby girl grow up to be so old? Seems like just yesterday she was struggling to finish her ABCs yet now she can add her numbers and read most of her sight words. She has grown up so fast into a little young lady who still refuses to give kisses or hugs, paints like pro and never fails to be the most caring and thoughtful girl that I have ever met.
She inspires me.
I love you, Joy. Love you more and I love you most.
if you have been around here since last Christmas, you will know how much I truly adore Christmas. it's one of the greatest times of the year, who can't love it? so last weekend, we headed to the little Christmas tree lot to pick out a Christmas tree.
we picked the perfect 8 feet tall Christmas tree, took it home and decorated it.
it now stands lit up with twinkling lights, shining brightly next to the glowing fire as it hangs heavily with home-made ornaments.
